Drinking Water Helps Maintain the Balance of Body
Fluids. Your body is composed of about 60% water. The
functions of these bodily fluids include digestion, absorption, circulation,
creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body
temperature.
Boosts Immune System – A water guzzler is less likely to get sick. And who
wouldn’t rather feel healthy the majority of the time? Drinking plenty of water
helps fight against flu, cancer and other ailments like heart attacks.
Water Helps Keep Skin Looking Good. Your
skin contains plenty of water, and functions as a protective barrier to prevent
excess fluid loss. But don't expect over-hydration to erase wrinkles or
fine lines, says Atlanta dermatologist Kenneth Ellner, MD. Water is the only liquid on Earth
that safely reduces weight
How much. You have probably heard that you
should drink eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day. How much water you actually
need depends on your weight, level of activity, the temperature and humidity of
your environment, and your diet. Your diet makes a difference because if you
eat plenty of water-dense foods like fruits and vegetables your need to drink
water will be diminished.Your body can help you
stay properly hydrated by regulating the amount of water in your system. The
body can hold on to water when you don't have enough or get rid of it if you
have too much. If your pee has ever been very light yellow, your body might
have been getting rid of excess water. When your pee is very dark yellow, it's
holding on to water, so it's probably time to drink up.
